In Vilanova i la Geltrú, I lead two dedicated healthcare spaces: a specialized pediatric center and a multidisciplinary medical clinic for the whole family.
Visit centremedic.es"I always wanted to be a pediatrician. I never had a plan B. Over the years, medicine has taught me that caring is not just treating. It is listening, accompanying, explaining, and being close."
I am Dr. Gemma Morera, although in the clinic I like to be called Gemma. I am a pediatrician, holder of a Master's in child allergy and pulmonology, a Master's in regenerative medicine and healthy aging, and the medical director of the Gemma Morera Medical Specialties Center in Vilanova i la Geltrú.
Childhood has always moved me deeply: seeing a child suffer affected me since I was small, and over the years I understood that this sensitivity could become my way of helping. For a long time, my vocation focused on pediatrics, accompanying children and families with closeness and listening.
But in recent years, my focus has also expanded to another vital stage: aging, especially for women who begin to notice changes in their body, energy, rest, or well-being. Having experienced the symptoms of perimenopause first-hand, I decided to study it thoroughly. Today, my practice unites these two extremes of life.
"It is not about changing who you are. It is about helping you feel better."
Sports, nutrition, and rest are the paths of daily prevention to live with full vitality.
Begin the journeyI deeply believe in daily care. Not from perfection, but from consistency.
In my personal life, I try to apply many of the things I also convey in my practice: moving, resting, eating well, listening to the body, and understanding that health does not depend on a single decision, but on many small habits repeated over time.
I play sports regularly and, whenever I can, I start the day training. I like to wake up early, dedicating that space to myself before the family and professional routine begins, and feeling that I have done something for myself. I also like to set challenges. I have participated in Hyrox competitions because for me sport is not just a physical issue: it is also discipline, energy, self-improvement, and a way of proving to myself that age does not have to be a limitation.
Diet also occupies an important place in my daily life. I try to follow a varied, Mediterranean, and balanced diet, prioritizing local, seasonal products and real foods: fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, nuts, fish, dairy, and simple meals that can be sustained in daily life.
As a mother of three, I also try to pass this way of living onto my children. Not out of obligation, but by example. I want them to see that taking care of yourself is not a one-time thing, nor something we do only when there is a problem, but a way to respect the body and have more energy to live better.
That doesn't mean it's always easy. Real life is full of work, schedules, stress, family logistics, fatigue, and days when you don't reach everything. But that's precisely why I believe that self-care is not about doing it perfectly, but about trying every day with common sense.
My personal experience with sports, nutrition, rest, and the physical changes of perimenopause has helped me understand even better how important it is to support the body at every stage. Taking care of yourself on the inside shows on the outside, but most of all it shows in how you feel, in your energy, your rest, your mood, and your way of living day by day.

I believe in close, rigorous, and deeply human medicine.
Medicine that does not just stop at the symptom, but looks at the whole person: their stage of life, their context, their concerns, and the way they experience what is happening to them.
In pediatrics, this means caring for the child and also accompanying the family. Listening to parents, explaining calmly, building trust, and making the clinic a safe space, where children are not afraid and families feel well-guided.
Taking care of health should not start only when a problem appears. Habits, follow-ups, early detection, and health education are fundamental to living better.
Over the years, my own experience has led me to expand this look towards regenerative medicine and healthy aging. Many women go through stages of change with fatigue, insomnia, hormonal changes, or loss of energy, and often live it in silence. Accompanying them is also helping to understand these changes and offering realistic, prudent, and personalized options.
"The medicine of the future must be more preventive, more integrative, and more human. It must advance, innovate, and rely on science, but without ever forgetting that in front of us, there is always a person."— Dr. Gemma Morera
